Cranberry Harvest 2021 is the Last Week of September

The expected crop yield this year will be down by 25 to 30% from 2020 due to dry, then extra wet weather conditions this spring and summer, and the sanding of the field this spring.  Cranberries grown specifically for sale at retail are dry harvested to insure high quality, undamaged fruit for months of storage under refrigeration.  The vines must be dry when picking is done, so morning dew must be gone before picking can start each day.  Typically this is not till 10 am, and we can pick until the dew starts to form again as sunset descends.  We have 2.5 acres to harvest, and with a crew of 3, it will take 4 full days to complete.
