Harvest took place the last week of September 2024 until Oct 3rd. We only harvested 60% of the yield harvested in 2023. This is a result of the lack of rain since early August, the extra large crop in 2023 interfering with producing buds in August of 2023 for the 2024 crop, and stress and damage (Phytophthora ) to vines caused by extra wet conditions in 2023.
We have a ample supply of fresh, high quality cranberries for the 2024 Thanksgiving season at select farm markets and stores, and should have berries available through Christmas at Bishop’s Orchards in Guilford. The effect of the lower yield will mean we won’t hold berries into early 2025 as we usually do, and dramatically affect our potential profits.
